Establishment of Consultation Channels for Human Rights
We have established an avenue of communication for human rights issues. This channel is both internal and external and is not merely focused on circulating information on harassment from our Human Resources department. We have endeavored to create an environment where it is easy to conduct consultations on human rights issues and have made it possible for all employees to search how to consult on these issues over a chatbot. When employees report potential issues, we adhere to the following process set forth in our Harassment Prevention Policy to resolve the issues:
- Review the situation while protecting the privacy of the employee who reported the issues
- Take necessary measures to resolve the issue with the consent of the employee who reported the issue.
- Take disciplinary action to resolve the issue if necessary as well as necessary measures to improve the working conditions for the victim.
- Avoid taking any actions which could result in negative consequences for other employees who assist with the resolution of issues.
- Plan and conduct necessary training programs for employees and other measures to prevent reoccurrences.
Maintaining a Proper Working Environment
In Japan, we adhere to the 36 Agreement and the Labor Standards Act of Japan and generally do not allow employees to work past 10:00 PM when working from home. We also have additional rules in place to prevent over-work such as meetings with corporate physicians for employees who work over a certain number of hours.
